Veteran’s Emergency Shelter

LINK’s Veterans Emergency Shelter began in 2009 because of the growing number of homeless veterans living on the streets. This program is a partnership with the Veterans Administration Medical Center who have assisted LINK in ensuring your needs are met during your stay.

LINK provides meals, shelter and transportation during a stay at one of our homes. We are also able to offer you the opportunity to shop at LINK’s Clothing Closet, engage in support services, recreational outings, wellness sessions at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, weekly house meetings, and assistance with obtaining benefits or employment assistance. Your goals are supported throughout your stay with us. Each house has individual bedrooms and ample room to utilize computers, telephone, day courses, etc. Lastly, during your stay you will work towards accessing your own permanent housing, prior to discharge.

Veteran’s Resources:

Assisted Living Research Institute(www.assistedliving.org): Works with a group of medical professionals here at Assisted Living and based on conversations we have had with communities across the US, one of the common challenges that came up was finding proper care options for veterans and those living with disabilities. So we created a dedicated section on our site that provides comprehensive information on topics like, available care options, financial support, and free resources that are available from each state. You can see the entire guide here: https://www.assistedliving.org/assisted-living-benefits-for-veterans
